Adepteq have worked closely with Lancashire Constabulary to design, develop and install "Sherlock" to replace the existing force Intranet.
"Sherlock" is based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 technology with a Corporate Home Landing page and then each division has their own portal where they control content specific to the division.
The Intranet utilises the SharePoint publishing capabilities and takes advantage of the document management facilities within the platform.
Lancashire Constabulary are running a fully redundant robust SharePoint Server Farm to ensure "Sherlock" is always available for over 7,000 officers and civilian staff. "Sherlock" will be the electronic space within the Constabulary for all staff to find information pertinent to them.
Following successful training, the content authors populated the sites ready for a force-wide launch.
The site was launched in October and has already proved extremely popular with users. It has achieved one of the key project aims, to increase the traffic and usage of the force Intranet so it would become "the space" to find information.
Following the succesful launch of the Intranet site, Lancashire Constabulary engaged Adepteq for an annual SharePoint Phone and Remote Support agreement.
The Constabulary have put the site forward for a national police award, which will be decided in 2009.
