Adepteq's live environment has now been transitioned from Microsoft BPOS (Business Productivity Online Suite) to an Enterprise Office 365 solution.

At Adepteq we practice what we preach and have been managing our business communication and collaboration with Microsoft Online Services. Following the launch of Office 365 last year we have been waiting for the opportunity to move to the new solution.
When transitions started Microsoft emailed Adepteq informing us we were due to be transitioned, the date we needed to prepare by with links and guides on the steps we needed to take to prepare for the transition.
- Run the Desktop Readiness Tool to evaluate if your organisation meets the minimum system requirements.
- Contact your host or domain name registrar to add new domain records.
- If you use LiveMeeting or Office Communicator, download Lync 2010 from the portal and sign in with your existing Microsoft Online Services username and password.
- Run the Online Desktop Setup on all end users' computers.
Once the steps were taken to complete the preparations, we were informed our transition would begin on Friday 10th February and be completed over the weekend.
During the Transition:
- SharePoint site collections are locked to “Read Only‟
- Outlook continued to function, mail flow continues to work
Following Transition:
- Users were prompted to re-start Outlook after the transition ended.
- Previous Outlook Web App (OWA) URL stopped working.
- Active Sync devices needed their comfiguration to be updated.
An email was received on Sunday to inform us the transition was complete with details of what Administrators needed to do with links to a user welcome pack which included email templates and familiarisation materials.
With all our staff using Office 365 every day we have a high level of insight and understanding of the solution attained by practical application.
